Our team has real estate, investment, business, architecture and property management background from North America and Costa Rica.

The owners of Re/Max Ocean Surf Realty, Chris and Bonnie Simmons, are residents of Costa Rica. After a life-changing trip in 1992, they decided to relocate from Vancouver, Canada to Tamarindo Costa Rica with their family. Chris is a Canadian Chartered Accountant who honed his business and investment skills in Canada and England with the international accounting firm Coopers and Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers). Chris subsequently managed a variety of construction products, manufacturing and distribution businesses, and later administered a number of specialized law practices.

Top International Recognition

Chris represented Costa Rica at several international conventions, including the Re/Max International Conventions in 2001 and 2005. Last year, Chris was ranked in the top ten of all of Re/Max's International Agents' numbering more than 25,000 worldwide. His wife Bonnie, who now acts as administrator for Re/max Ocean Surf Realty, managed several retail and construction businesses in Canada, including a construction company in Vancouver owned by her and her husband Chris.

Property Development and Management Experience

The Simmons' first Costa Rica development enterprise was a family construction company, which is now owned and operated by their daughter and son-in-law Kelly and Vince Germann as Constructora Cordoba del Norte. Cordoba has an excellent reputation as a builder of luxury custom homes in Tamarindo. Their other daughter Lisa is currently completing her Masters of Information Science at the University of Toronto, and is committed to improving the level of information available to our clients. This website is her creation.

Highly Educated and Skilled Staff

Our highly skilled, educated and dedicated staff is the finest in Costa Rica real estate. Our office manager has an M.B.A from the U.S.A. and was sales manager at the prestigious Reserva Conchal Beachfront Golf Resort. Another of our agents was a mortgage broker in the U.S. for over twenty years, and has worked with very sophisticated marketing teams at luxury resorts in Costa Rica. One of our newest agents worked for a national real estate company in the U.S. before opening and operating his own agency there. Our property management group, Summerland Homes, is also a highly professional team. One team member owned a Travel Agency in the U.S., another had his own Interior Design and Installation company, and a third has a degree in Hotel Management from Costa Rica and managed reservations for Tamarindo's finest hotel.
