Costa Rica has a few fantastic options for golf enthusiasts. Some of the best golf courses in Costa Rica are located in Guanacaste.
Hacienda Pinilla, a 4,500-acre development located just south of Tamarindo, features an 18-hole Mike Young designed golf course. Mike Young is well known for his golf course designs in the southeast United States. The Pinilla golf course goes through the beautiful Guanacaste landscape of tropical dry forest and ranchlands. The 14 and 15 holes are located on the Pacific Ocean and have breathtaking views. Deer, monkeys, and a variety of types of birds can be seen while you enjoy the well cared for greens. RE/MAX offers building lots, luxury homes, and condominiums within the development that have access to the course.
Reserva Conchal is another development that features a world-class golf course. Robert Trent Jones Jr designed the beautiful par 71 course in 1996 that features rolling greens and sea views. Coatimundis and monkeys will often be found on the fairways. Real Estate options for golfers include ocean view home sites, golf front building lots, private homes, and condominiums. RE/MAX has extensive knowledge of the real estate options currently available in this golf and beach community.
Under an hour drive north, you can find two other golf options at the Papagayo. The exclusive Four Season Resort offers an Arnold Palmer, par 72 course on over 220 acres, and the Papagayo Golf and Country Club, which offers a more casual environment at their USGA Certified course.
If you will be visiting the area of Tamarindo/Flamingo in February 2018, there are two great events that will give you an opportunity to experience the golf course at Hacienda Pinilla and help local charities. February 24, 2018, Amigos de Education will have a charity tournament to raise funds for scholarships for local children. If you would like more information please contact amigoseducacioncr@gmail.com. The weekend of March 9 -11 is the Robert August Surf and Turf with an amazing weekend of surfing and golf. You can sign up for surfing and golf events, or just play in the exciting golf tournament. All funds go to benefit CEPIA, a local organization that helps children and their families in poverty. Please contact cepia.surfandturf@gmail.com or call 506-8447-6900.
We hope to see playing golf in Guanacaste soon!
