Before the end of 2019, the International Airport in Liberia in Costa Rica will extend its operating hours to work 24/7. It is currently open from 4h00am to midnight but due to an increase in traffic to this newly renovated airport, the government decided to increase the numbers of hours open to serve its growing clientele. With the increase in flights, it will create more local jobs and hopefully attract new airlines who will be tempted to choose Liberia instead of San Jose airport. A new loading center has recently been added to the Daniel Oduber Airport (LIR) with new boarding gates, additional counters for travelers and new baggage carousel.
Playa Tamarindo is only 45 minutes driving distance from Daniel Oduber Airport. The beautiful beaches and professional surf combined with the perfect weather year round and the short distance from the airport makes it the busiest tourist destination of the country.
